Watches that are taken into the water regularly, even if water-resistant, should be checked for leakages once every year. If your watch has a rotating bezel, it should be rotated during cleaning to get rid of dirt as well as salt residue. After swimming in chlorinated or salty water, we advise you to clean your timepiece with fresh water and rub it dry with a lint-free dry cloth. When going into water with a water-resistant wristwatch, be sure that the crown is pushed all the way in. Please check your watch's level of water resistance before swimming or entering into humid places. When participating in sport, it is advised to take your timepiece off, however, please be aware that the more complications a timepiece has, the more sensitive it can be to impacts and other disruptions. Magnetized watches can be demagnetized by our expert watchmakers. Please make sure to keep your timepiece at a safe distance from such devices if possible. This also means, it is advised not to wear jewellery and watches on the same wrist, as the metals can damage each other.įurthermore, magnetic fields that emanate not only from computers, but also tablets, phones and clock radios, can magnetize your timepiece which can lead to malfunctions. Impacts as well as scratches should be avoided. Chemicals can damage the case as well as the straps of your timepiece. Straps made of metal can be cleaned with mild soapy water and a soft toothbrush.įor all timepieces, please avoid contact with chemicals like perfumes, cosmetics and detergents.
